If you haven’t heard of Alexa Rand, it’s time to pay attention to her youthful yet seasoned music. After releasing “Undefined” (feat. Alfie) earlier this year, Alexa hasn’t stopped working on putting out some of her best work. “Undefined” is everything you need to know about her talent. She is capable of singing with some of the best pop stars in the industry right now. The work ethic she has is consistent and that is what usually gets artists in the long run. How well can you keep up with the competition and give your audience what they want?
Smile is an EP that you would expect any of the top pop artists to put out. Something you can groove to, relate to and put on for an evening with friends or alone. That seems to be Alexa’s jam in her music avenue. Having music that anyone can just hit play at any time. A set of music like that is important in these days of playlists. Consumers are loving the ability to play certain kinds of music whenever they want to play it. An artist like Alexa can capitalize on this opportunity because her music has its own vibe. Smile fits in well with her genre as it brings catchy pianos, long-lasting melodies, and easy sing-along lyrics. This is a recipe for success for young artist to build their abilities and their confidence.
My favorite song on the EP is Clover. It has more of an R&B feel to it and she nails it. There is no doubt that is a lane that she could float into. Throughout the song, she changes her vocals to sound more and more dynamic. The pure emotion you hear from her lets you know that she is creating her music from deep within. It is so important to make that step as an artist if you want to truly stand out and be unique.
Alexa has posted a video to the first song on the EP called “Rooms”. This is her attempt to give her audience some visuals from her EP and make that connection with her fans.
