Coffey Release “Grind Until You Shine”
Not many artists are able to do what Coffey does when it comes to making music. Recently the young artist released his single “Zoom” featuring Lil Crimson. This track was something that really got his fans going. But with no hesitation, Coffey released his newest project album Grind Until You Shine on July 1st. This album is full of everything you could want from this young and upcoming artist. From masterful beats made by various producers to vibrant vocals, Coffey keeps this album at the pinnacle of his work.
The album starts off with the track Grind Until You Shine. This track seems as if it was personal to Coffey being that it reflects the name of the album. He definitely had an agenda with his fan base when he made this track because he makes some references to his personal life multiple times within the track. During his first verse, he wants people to understand that he works hard every day by reciting the lyrics “I could use mo’ sleep, If I lay, Who gone pay these bills?”. He mentions this because he doesn’t want people to think that he isn’t “grinding” even though you may see him living life to the fullest and being happy with his circumstances. Coffey makes a big deal out of being a hard worker and not letting other people get that misunderstood. Artists tend to get a reputation for being lazy just because they are usually catered to in the industry but not Coffey. He works hard to make sure everyone that is involved in his life can be taken care of every single day. He even mentions “Baby momma got problems, Who gone solve em? Well I guess it’s me”. He is willing to take up the torch and do what he needs to do to be a provider and a father.
The entire album from start to finish enables fans to get a glimpse at what Coffey is capable of doing. He has such a sensational vibe to all of his music and you can’t help but wish you were with him in the booth making music. Prepare to have your head bobbing and foot tapping throughout the album. Don’t forget to pay attention to the lyrics while you’re jamming out. He says some of the most creative things that most artists are thinking of, which puts him ahead of most of his peers. My favorite track is “Pay Phone” because his style on the track will keep it stuck in your head.
