After dropping Five just several weeks ago, dyare. continues to enforce his name on the Memphis music scene with his newest release of Six. This EP has everything you could want if you are a lover of the genre of Hip-Hop. From exclusive tales of his life to visionary pictures painted for the listener to well-scripted punchlines, dyare. is definitely leaving his mark and making his audience pay attention. There is no shortage of bars in this EP as he has shown that his penmanship is truly at the forefront of his career. This is evident in the title of the tracks: “Feeling like Kendrick”, “Mood Swings”, “Conscious”, and “Dead End”.

The EP starts off with “Feeling like Kendrick”. This is an homage to the very popular Hip-Hop artist from Compton, California Kendrick Lamar. I believe with the sound that dyare. has and the title of the track he is trying to send a message to the Hip-Hop community that he has arrived and he wants to be taken seriously. Kendrick is known for having some of the most iconic lines and rhythmic patterns in all of Hip-Hop. He devastates his competition whether it be friends or foes when it comes to his verses. He is well known for his lines in “Control” where he calls out all the people he considers friends and lets them know that they are not safe either in his music. When you listen to dyare.’s music, keep that energy in mind. There is no lack of power and delivery in his music. He wants the listener to feel what he feels as if you’re in the booth or experiencing a studio session with him. It’s important for artists to catch the listener’s attention and dyare. has understood this assignment very well.

My personal favorite on the EP is “Conscious”. This is the type of song that will give you a wake-up call. Sometimes music today can be easily made so artists don’t put much effort into it. Easy come, easy go isn’t exactly the mentality you should have if you are an artist trying to capture a fan base. You need to be able to gain interest from the listener and show them that you say what you mean and you mean what you say. It is important to have a sense of authenticity to your music and dyare. has been able to stamp his claim into “Conscious” for me. Throughout the song, he constantly comes in and out of the track like he’s breaking the fourth wall. We the listener, are developing this relationship with him as we hear him recite the lyrics that have been itching to come out. The chorus sounds like a message screamed from the depths of the trolls of Hip-Hop, “Why you doing all that conscious sh*t, don’t no one want to hear it. We wanna hear that beat, not focus on the lyrics”. Phrases like these bring you full circle to him “feeling like Kendrick”.

dyare. records with Memphis’ own Ryan Olson of Uproar Recording. They have had a long-lasting relationship and with tracks like these, you can see why. If you want to hear more from dyare., check out his music on all major streaming platforms right now.
