Met Montrel has been eager to keep his fans happy with a new release. After planning and strategically giving his backlog of music much consideration, he has decided to release his new single “Hitman”. The last time we heard from Montrel was his single “Sneak Attack” featuring DNZL and Krisiz Jay back in May of 2022. Sneak Attack was everything and more of what we expect from Met Montrel. He never fails to show his ability as an artist and he continues this with each release that he issues to his fans.
There is more to Montrel than what people think. He is a very intelligent artist who works around the clock to deliver a special brand to his audience. His exceptional artistry is what gives off the persona of who he is and what he is capable of as an artist. Most independent artists don’t understand the concept of what they have to do to get to the top. There are so many little things that must be done for an artist to reach their full potential. Montrel gets it. He has established himself as one of the premier pop/R&B artists in the Memphis area. With Hitman, he shows you his showmanship by becoming a Hitman himself. He is playing the character that every man worries about. Someone who swoops in steals your significant other. Montrel’s confidence is through the rough at this stage in his career and he’s only getting better.
This track is full of energy, emotion, and mystery. We asked Montrel what went into creating this song. He stated “When I first started to write to the beat, I played it extremely safe. I’ve always kind of played it safe when it came to lyrics and the vibe of the song. After many failed attempts, I freestyled to the beat about five times. Within those 5 takes, I was able to find the flow of the pre-hook. ‘I just wanna f*ck, you know whats up’ and the rest was history.” Montrel adds so much character and life to his music with his lyrics and passion. He is definitely on a new level and headed in the right direction.
Hitman was recorded at Uproar Recording in Memphis, TN by Ryan Olson. They have developed a solid relationship and continue to pump out hit after hit. This release was Montrel’s first song distributed by the independent record label Damage Media Group. You can find Met Montrel’s music on all streaming platforms and the music video to the song on YouTube. Stay tuned to find out how Met Montrel will continue to evolve in music!
